i was listening to yes dear and i realized im really gonna miss most of their music, mainly the ones ryen wrote, but some nate wrote, and i thought that we should have a proper burial for yes dear (although they are not all dead)

I wouldnt say they died
i'd say they lost a limb or 2 or 3
still alive
can still function
just wont ever be the same again

No offense, but I didn't think Ryen's were the best at all. They weren't bad, but Nate's were a lot better.

And by naming them, I'm referring to the one's they sing, not necessarily wrote.
Imaginary Wheels was pretty great though.

I loved Pictures of Your Bones but I never really got into the rest of the album.  That doesn't mean I didn't like it--I just never was in the mood for it at the time, and I haven't really given it much more thought since then.  Though my Pictures of... has 19 playcounts while everything else has like 2 and 3.  I just really loved that song.

Kinda weird that, now that they're not really complete anymore(i.e. no Ryen and Jose) and they're not touring or anything..I kind of don't feel the urge to listen to the cd. Weird.

When they were together, I was always in the mood.

besides the day i got it, i never played it too much. "Prove It" was a classic when it came out in the wake of Ozma's demise and it all went downhill from there.

How can you not love Ryen? He's such a nice guy. Now, Daniel on the other hand. He's mean. One time I saw him bitch slap a retarded kid.

I don't know any of them personally, but I'm assuming I'd like Jose the best. I don't know just have a feeling about it.

Yeah. That's pretty accurate, I'd say. Well, except for the Dan being drunk part. I think they were all drunk when I talked to them.

I've never talked to her Star. She was never around until they played. But Pat was really cool. I'm gonna miss that man.

Dan's always been pretty cool to me, but I think he has kind of a low tollerance for people he's not really interrested in talking to.  Not to be egotistical or something, but once he left a group of people that were talking to him in order to come talk to the group of people I was with.  It was somewhat amusing.

Jose has always been extremely nice to me.  I think he's in a hurry a lot because he's busy.  Being in a band requires a lot of work, and I get the impression that he does a lot of it.

Star has always been nice to me.  Last time I met her, she was very kind.  I'd understand if she were a bitch, she probably has to deal with a LOT of creepy guy fans, but she's always been cool to me.

Ryen I have had only minimal dealings with, but he seems chill.

Pat used to be extremely fucking friendly, then he just got high and drunk and antisocial.

Thing about all of them, though, is they are just people.  It's probably not fair to say "dude, ____ was such a dick!" just because they were lame the one time you met them.  Everybody's lame once in a while, it's luck of the draw.

I can understand dan, its just him with a bunch of tagalongs, no offense
i hate when it gets down to mainly tagalongs, when that happens i sometimes leave to
I think alot of people not necessarily you peoples
think that theese bands and such owe it to them to talk to them and such
when really we should just be content with a hello from them

dude, if I had fans like you guys, you could do whatever the fuck you wanted when you met me.  You're giving me your hard earned cash, your time, and your encouragement.  If you were the lamest kid ever I would be extremely interested in anybody who was that devoted to what I did.  It's like if you bumped into Robert Deniro on the street and were like "oh snap, let me get a photo" and if he was like "no" then fuck him.  Ask him to give back the money you spent seeing his movies.  People that get into this business know what they're getting into and if they want to be lame about it then get back that skrilll!  sorry for the tangent, point being Ozma are genrally cool in person as long as you don't slap jose too hard on the back when you hug him (I did and he grunted with pain).  But if they weren't I doubt I could be a fan anymore.  Like Reggie and the Full Effect, I bought their albums and went to their shows until I met Dewees.  If you've read this far you know that today was a boring day. Sorry!

Artists don't owe fans shit.  I think it's bullshit a lot of times when somebody meets a favorite musician once and decides to toss all their shit up on ebay just because he didn't feel like kissing fans asses.  The good artists make music because they want to make music.  They decide to make money off of it because it's better than working a register for the rest of their lives.  They don't do it for the fans.  So what if you give them money, presumably you get your reward in the form of a good CD or live show.  Often times fans are increadibly over critical of musicians as well, and have no idea what it's like to be in their shoes.  If a guy tells you to go fuck yourself or shoots your pets or something, then you might have a point, but a lot of times fans get pissed about things as minor as a bad vibe.  Maybe an artist doesn't want to talk to you.  Maybe he's in a hurry cause he has to get his shit off the stage or talk to the annoying interviewer from the local press.  Maybe he's on very little sleep and frusterated by having been on the road for a week and a half.  In any case, musicians should not bend over backwards to please the fans.  I don't buy CDs from people for being nice guys, I buy CDs of good music.

yeah dude you have some good points.  But it's like you're making excuses for a pretentious person with any sort of fame.  There is no, I repeat NO excuse for a musician to treat a fan with any lack of respect.  Sure they don't exactly owe it to us, but remember they were once just kids like us admiring influences of their own.  There is virtually no such thing as a musician making music for the sake of making it.  If that were they case they wouldn't even bother showing anybody else and just live off of the fact that they rule and they know it.  Bands strive their asses off for some sort of credibility, be it the adiration from others, the money, or the experience of traveling.  They want something!  And we (the fans) are the ones that supply them.  I don't even know why I ranted in the first place on this board, this whole belief excludes Ozma since they are truly aware what makes a band popular, and that is us.  They know it and that's the reason why the quote "we have the best fans" goes along with their name.  blah blah blah I'm done counterposting.  I say we're both right.

I disagree though, there ARE musicians who make music for the sake of making music.  And I don't think wanting the art to be consumed contradicts that.  Wanting your music to be known isn't the same as wanting your name to be known.

anyway, I do agree that it's a good measure of a person to see how they treat their fans when they are not in the mood to deal with their fans.  My point stands though, that I feel the majority of fans are overwhelmingly harsh in their judgements when it comes to celebrities' personalities, and rarely make an attempt to consider circumstances.  I know if I were a celebrity, I'd be widely considered an asshole if only because I'm really bad at first impressions.

Anyway, I'm against celebrity worship.

Everytime I've been to one of their smaller shows, they've all been perfectly content to talk to anyone. My first time seeing them, they were all hanging out by a table outside and me and my friends went over and talked it up for like 10-15 minutes about where were from, how great the show was, stuff like that.

Everytime I see Ryen/Jose be it Ozma/Yes Dear, I usually pat em' on the back or shake their hand and say "Good show" or something to that effect.

Haha, one of my friends actually got Jose and Star to play a 2P game on his GBA with him. Courageous bastard, I would've never done that, ha. Dan's the guy who's always online, so you can always talk to him here.
