i think this is the first anyone is hearing of this. thanks! i might end up going
it's been a day and a half since i've found out, and i was waiting til anyone would post anything about this lol.

exactly! i was like, 'clues!!?'
seriously though, i wouldn't mind hearing some good =w= tunes- especially since i've never seen them live.
You beat me to it.
Thanks Starlet. I did now know about that either. That got me curious what they exactly meant by that. To clarify things I went to End Transmission's page and found this:
QuoteWeââ,¬â,,¢re opening for a Weezer Tribute show!! Jose and Ryen of the band Ozma will be covering the green album in itââ,¬â,,¢s entirety. We will be there, drunk, singing along to Photograph. Oh, and weââ,¬â,,¢re playing before them. Come out, itââ,¬â,,¢ll be a blast! Buy tickets here: http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&pl=&eventId=1557684

sweet!!! thanks for the extra info. who's going? let's carpool! <3 :)
Ronnie and I both want to go, but due to the limited car space of the vehicles we drive, I am sure the vehicle would be completley filled. :P
I regret to inform you elliott that my "engagement shower" is that day.
Ok, nevermind. I am not going.
what the eff, guys? :(
<3
just to update on the news, loren from teaneck posted this bulletin:
Date: May 1, 2009 3:13 PM
Subject: Cool news for Weezer/Ozma/Teaneck/Metal Skool fans
Body: Hello all you people
So
two shows are coming up in Los Angeles you should know about
5/16 - Jose and Ryen from Ozma and Jeff and Craig from Teaneck are going to be calling themselves "The Crabs" and playing the entire Green album by Weezer. This is a one time thing and should be real cool.
Toy Robot (my band)is opening
and Toy Robot now features Jose and Kenn Shane from Ozma and ME (Loren from Teaneck)
knitting factory
Saturday 5/16
This will very likely sell out...so do it soon.
so two members of ozma are in another band now?!?!?!?
hahaha, they just keep popping out bands :p
what ever happened to yes dear?
I for one must say Teaneck is awesome. I had no idea you were affiliated with Ozma until I saw Jose hug Loren at the last Knitting Factory Show. I hope Loren still has my $2 bill that I used to buy the Teaneck CD with, that was a family treasure....it's a JFK $2 bill, so it's worth real gold.
I can't wait for the show. I'll be there with LOTS of bells on.
My question is this though, are the crabs only planning on playing for 27 minutes, plus a few b-sides? That's a short show. How about some summer2k songs too?
I honestly can't wait for this show. Hope everyone is as stoked as I am for it!
I've never seen Toy Robot either, has anyone here seen them live??

Anyone going to record the show?
i will do pretty everything in my power to go. this is the closest i will get to an ozma fix this year, i feel.

i agree. i wish i had my license though; booooo. :(
i wish i could record the show; maybe i'll try, if my camera isn't being retarded. :P
I'll record at least a few songs from each band on my digital camera (it's nice and has good sound).
Have any green album requests? I'll be doing "Glorious Day" for sure, becuase this is my favorite green song. I also might record "Sugar Booger" because i think Ryen and Jose cannot play that song with a straight face.
umm... last time i checked 'sugar booger' was not on the green album...
its a b-side from the album.
Man i wish i could go...
getting my album purchased in the philippines probably explains why lol. actually, it probably explains a lot of things...
i wish you could go, too :(
actually, i wish i had a buddy to go with. meh.

okay, now i'm confused.
damn. i fucked that one up. proof positive i'm an ozma fan.
Ozma fans don't need game
I had a dream.
So far all that l I can remember from that dream is that Ronnie and I both found out that somehow the wedding shower was at the perfect time so that we could go to both the shower and the show.

agreed. and hipsun (greg, right?)- i don't do blind dates.
sorry :)
i also had a dream about the show last night, and everything was AWESOME!
and then i woke up :-\ blah.
i'm probably old enough to be your dad. you want a daddy?
i'm looking forward to the show. they should do a pinkerton show next. then i'll really care.

ew. :(
and YES pinkerton!
update from jose's myspace bulletin:
LineUp:
Ryen Slegr = riv
Jose Galvez = bri
Jeff Burke = pat
Craig Wahl = Mikey
cute :} i wonder if they're gonna dress up too?!?!?
damn, i need to buy them tix!
Aw I wanted Loren to be in it too.
Yeah I have been hoping that this show will go down so good that they will do it again with one of the first two albums. That way I can actually go and enjoy it even better.
This would probably be the easiest to album to start off with, because I believe it is the simplest album to perform
I would try to put together a road trip up from Vegas to see a Pinkerton show.
And Ryen is a great choice for the Rivers role. Have fun, people who are going! The rest of you, um.. have fun too.. whatever it is you'll be doing that night. ;D
It's funny.
I don't want to see weezer (unless I had a time machine)
but the chance of being able to see ozma perform weezer songs is exciting.
elliott i wish i could just edit your posts for you....
i agree :)
on the myspace post though, it read, 'ONE TIME ONLY' :(
Yeah I hope the result of the show will change that.

brightening day
If they play this song, it will be hard to record. In my opinion, this is the most rocking Green Album song. Hash Pipe comes close, but I really really enjoy Brightening Day.
So far, requests for "I Do" and "Knock-Down Drag-Out" have been confirmed. Lemme know if anyone else is dying to hear something.
did anybody else in the LA area see who else is playing on May 16th?
One hint....they wrote all the songs that The Crabs are playing.
=w= is playing the KROQ weenie roast on that same Saturday.
Can't wait for the CRABS!!!! they should really add a synth player to the mix. Green album covers sound way better with a synth. Anyone agree?
Next time they should be The Getchoos
The Dreams...
The Crabs - One Night Only (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ck8Kqqpknk)
Check out the teaser.
oh shit.
now i really, really have to get there. <3
thank you!
Now my disappointment is further increased due to that beautiful promo. So that I made a face that looked bewildered.
(My previous post said that in a emoticon* but it was deleted so I then decided to write it out in sentence form. I know for sure that I posted it this time. I have proof. Hopefully my post will not be deleted this time.)
*
wait, how come you can attend again? ???
(besides the fact that ronnie won't be able to go :P)
I think how I wrote it is confusing. I'm still not going. It was a depressed bewilderment.
I am not very good at getting my thoughts across to people clearly.
But in all reality as depressed as I act, I am not really depressed. I just like to complain. I'll have just as much fun if not more at Ronnie's wedding shower.
gotcha. ;)
it's okay; i'm sorta like that, too- being confusing and inarticulate about feelings- if not more. more so when i'm talking to people in person- not as much online lol.
anyway, hope you guys have fun! :)
Thanks. You too.
Yeah. I am worse in public too. I often mumble.
has the fact that the green album sucks been discussed? why are these guys covering an album that sucks?
It is the 8th year anniversary of the green album on May 15th.
did anyone see the video of knock down drag out? very good quality. i forgot how much i like that song. as much as the green album doesnt compare to blue album/pinkerton its still not bad in my opinion.
Also, the person who posted those videos also has a video of Jose talking about his album, I dunno if anyone noticed that or not, its pretty cool.

Billy Burke is the one who edited it. He owns/engineers at the studio where Ozma recorded "Pasadena" as well as Jose's solo album. That's where we are recording our album as well. Billy is an AWESOME guy, he should be at the show next saturday.
That EPK of Jose is great. Watch it in HD on youtube.

No we never met. There was a jerk the was claiming that he he used my name on here whom I think you talked to there. He was pretty much the whole reason that I did not go to that show.
haha oh yeah i believe this conversation has already taken place, our old friend frank came and posed as "oatmeal" that day.
is it just a coincidence that ozma's last show was on the same date last year?
So Oatmeal, other people have power over you to keep you indoors and away from Ozma shows? I hope you have a good stereo.
I really enjoyed the green album. Every weezer fan i knew loved it for the first month, then started talking shit. I still love it. It's like early beatles music.....thank god weezer hasn't made a Sgt. Peppers. That shit sucked.
Usually not. But in this rare case yes. Usually I just put up with people, but there was more why I could not go if he went.
... i need a ride :(
im sure hipsun would be kind enough to pick you up
not sure if i'm that desperate... D:

if you seriously need a ride, I'll be Santa Clarita, CA before i leave for the show. Can you make it there?

that show was awesome :D
started with I Do, played the whole green album straight, and the encore was .. Tired of Sex!
where's the boots..
definitely saw a bunch of people taking videos, so something's bound to show up
i want some live 'tired of sex'. gah.
i am eagerly waiting for youtube vids to surface. i bet they totally tore up 'tired of sex' (especially ryen)
"I Do"

I got some pretty good pictures from where I was standing, and I know someone else with a WAYY better camera than me, she was taking pics too. Hers will be great. I'll post them up here when I get a chance.
Would it be too much of a reach to think that Tired of Sex might be a preview of a Pinkerton show..? I mean, they saved it for last, and it is the first track.. Even if it's not, that's pretty sweet that they played it, I want to hear Ryen on that solo.

eh... the tired of sex solo didnt happen unfortunately. he knows it, but for some reason didnt play it. boo. i demand a do over.
Did he just do his own thing, or was the song cut short? Goodness, I would have liked to see this.
someone spilled a beer on his pedals, so he just sang for the second half of tos.
Forget Ozma, they should just become a full time Weezer cover band!
Blasphemy!!! They are so much better than a Weezer cover band.Ã, You can't deny their own creative talents.Ã, I talked to Jose after the show and was asking him when we could see another Ozma show.Ã, I'm so worried that we won't see Ozma rocking out again any time soon.Ã, While I do love weezer, I love Ozma so much too.Ã, They are definitely one of the building blocks of my rock repertoire.Ã,Â
Ozma, if you're reading these posts...come back soon.Ã, We miss you!Ã, I was hoping they would play some Ozma tunes as an encore, but I guess that would have been weird with the Teaneck members playing with Jose and Ryan.Ã, All in all it was a fun show and took me back to a year before when Ozma was on that stage.

What an asshole. I hope that none of his pedals were ruined.
From what I remember, Jose said he and Ryen (and I forgot if he mentioned Daniel or Kenn, but did mention one of them) were willing to play again...but I have no idea what that means, and wouldn't want to put words in anyone's mouth. I told him there were people out there that still loved their music and would be thrilled to see them again. I have a bad vibe about their future, but I really hope they play again in LA soon. Damn, the Crabs got me so excited to see them again.
At Daniel's monstro show in Febuary he said that we wouldn't mind working on another ozma album
thanks for the info, mrtuttle. we might have to wait a bit... but that's understandable since daniel seems to be busy with much more important things. it's great that the others are down for making music. i'm always looking out for stuff they do.
The vibe i got from daniel was that they werent gonna record again anytime soon, and it seems that you got the same vibe from ryen and jose.
Are there anymore videos?
how many of you guys/gals make music or other forms of art?
in my experience, creating art with another person, let alone 4 other people is always a struggle. on the other hand, making art with only yourself to satisfy does not demand any artistic compromises.
in my opinion,
they're all making music all by themselves because that's what they want to do, not because they can't do it with ozma.
i would not worry.
sorry for the delay, here are the videos i took. I'll upload "Tired of Sex" once i can edit it.
